DeLonghi DCF212T Drip Coffeemaker with Convenient Front Access
DeLonghi DCF212T Drip Coffeemaker with Convenient Front Access

Waking up is hard to do! Stumbling into your kitchen to set up the coffeemaker could even be harder. That's where Delonghi's new DCF212T fits in. It's so simple to use, you might actually feel fresher each morning. This digital/programmable 12 cup drip coffee maker has Complete Frontal Access, so anyone can make coffee fast and easy. De'Longhi's new DCF212T allows you to access the water tank by opening the handle on the front door and easily pour water into the tank without moving the unit. This Units filter, which also can easily be reached through the front handle, is durable and won't let even the finest grinds sneak their way into your coffee pot. Can't wait for that cup of coffee. The DCF212T "pause-and-serve? function allows you to interrupt the brewing cycle, and pour the amount you want, when you want it. When you replace the glass carafe the brewing continues. Its that simple! Non-stick warming plate which keeps those already poured cups hot Built-in timer function (imagine awakening to the aroma of frsh, brewed coffee)

Inconsistent brewing
I've not tried a boatload of coffeepots. This is actually the most expensive one I have tried. And I am really disappointed in it. The cheaper pots I have used have outperformed this one. The front load feature is really cool, I'll give it that. But, many times after brewing the pot of coffee will look like slightly darkened water. I open up the front, and the grounds were pushed aside so it didn't brew at full strength. Literally every time I make a pot of coffee, I have to make sure that the grounds are piled up just perfectly in the middle of the filter, not off-centered, else they all end up pushed to the side and the pot of coffee is ruined. Even piling them up perfectly, I still get the occasional ridiculously weak pot of coffee due to the grounds being pushed aside. I don't know if the water drips into it unevenly or what the problem is. And I use more grounds in this one than I have in previous pots, so I know it is not lack of adequate amount of grounds.
Also, the minimum recommended pot size is 4 cups. I have tried brewing less that this, and the problem I spoke of above is even more frequent.
Setting the clocks is another complaint. You have to hold down the button while it scrolls around to whatever time you're setting. Like the really old digital alarm clocks used to do. Even the cheaper pots I've had have had better technology than this.
I say skip this pot. When I purchase another pot (which I won't do until this one actually breaks) I will either get a cheaper one, which I can't imagine performing any worse than this one, or suck it up and go high end and actually be thrilled with my pot.

DESIGN FLAW, just Like Everyone Else-IT LEAKS
My wife have had this product for a few months and generally only use it when our in-laws come over or host parties, or weekends. We got back from a weekend getaway, decided to make a pot of java, and sure enough, the coffee pot is leaking out that back as others on this review has prescribed to. What a "POT" of junk and it sounds like it's not worth sending it back since 1) it's on the "customers" dime to do so and 2) the replacement Delonghi sends is just as big of piece as the first ones. Sounds like it's time to do my part w.r.t reducing my carbon foot-print and go green by recycling this pathetic effort of a drip coffeemaker and share my thoughts with DeLonghi.

SO SAD - LOVED front access - BUT NOT HOT coffee!!
I KNOW....some of you had already listed that the coffee did not "get hot enough"...I did see that before I bought it at Target. I just really LOVED the front access - the way you put the water in, etc. We must keep our maker under a cabinet and we have very little counter space. This did not have any water filtration system - but we went ahead and purchased one for the kitchen faucet. (oh well - guess me needed one) keeping that.
OKAY the cup warmer on top is so neat and does work.....but at only 900watts - NOT HOT ENOUGH coffee...!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought some of you who stated this before on this site - might have been used to STARBUCKS and MCDonalds piping hot coffee and maybe you really did not know what you were talking about.
We are hooked on Coffeemate creamer (liquid) original - so putting in cool creamer from the fridge did not help the matter at all!!!
PLEASE DeLonghi - FIX THIS PROBLEM AND WARM IT UP - I promised I will buy it!!-Until then - it has been returned!!!
So sad in the South... :(

Aroma feature
We just got this coffeemaker and tried the Aroma on the first day and off the second day. The coffee takes longer to perk but well worth the wait(about 20 minutes). The taste is so much better. We like this product and the front load feature.

DISAPPOINTED
Front access is a plus.
Coffee burning on the heating plate and stinking up the house is bad.
Good design, bad end product.
