Initially very good but grows bad very quickly.
I started using this product and was impressed with the quality. I was able to hear my baby very clearly. I liked that both parent/child units used a battery backup. But 2 months later things started to fail. One child monitor went totally bad. The other one still works but the number of places I can use it in the house really is limited. If I place the monitor in a place outside a select few then I hear a lot of static. I would not recommend this monitor.
Good for the money
So far I'm really impressed with this monitor for the money I paid. I live in an apartment complex so I was concerned about interference, but so far so good! I'm not sure what the review talking about the 9V battery is about, these only take AAAs. Haven't tried it yet though, only using them plugged in for now. The thermometer doesn't seem exceptionally accurate, but thats probably the least of my concerns. With the lack of another thermometer I'd say its probably about 5 degrees off.
One thing to keep in mind, if someone who isn't familiar with these comes around and turns the receiver on without making sure they turned on the monitor, it will sound like you're only going to get is interference, but once the monitor is on, the whole thing goes silent and all you hear is whats going on in baby's room. For the price, great product! I would be concerned about it breaking if it got dropped one too many times though, does feel kind of cheapy. Time will tell!
Uses up batteries
I bought this monitor for a trip abroad. I liked that the child unit used batteries. I didn't want to worry about converters and adaptors so I bought it. We were staying a villa that was not baby proofed and I needed to be able to hear my son at night. However, the child unit of this monitor went through one 9 volt battery a day. The battery only lasted about 14 hours. I had to buy 14 batteries for our two week vacation and it was very expensive. This monitor is very poorly designed and I do not recommend it if you want to use the battery power option.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY !!
This monitor is the second Safety 1st monitor that I have owned. The 1st one lasted maybe a month before it started acting up. This monitor I have had for about 1 week and already one of the receivers has stopped working. The first night it was nice because there was no static and everything was clear with no problems. As the nights have progressed the receivers have gotten worse. Now I have to lay the receiver on it's side,flat down, or hold it in my hand to avoid loud static. Even by doing those things it still doesn't make the static go away completely. I will never buy another monitor from this company.

so far this has proven to be a good monitor. Super quiet!! No white noise, but can here baby clearly. Also tells the room temp, which is really helpful. We live in a very crowded neighborhood with lots of kids/babies and have had no other monitor interference.
